Cops: Man stole car, kidnapped owner and tried to run over officer

CINCIANNATI, OH (FOX19) - Kristopher Ward, 23, has been arrested and is being held on a $360,000 bond for multiple charges.

Around 4 p.m. Thursday, Ward was seen throwing a loaded weapon under a car. According to the police report, after being ordered to stop, he stole a car which was parked on the street, he kidnapped the owner of the vehicle. Then he attempted to hit a police officer with the car before ramming a police car, with an officer in it.

After that, a struggle started with an officer and Ward. Ward tried to take the officer's gun. Ward started to run off when he dropped a second gun. Once the officers caught him, Ward continued to fight and resist arrest.

He was taken into custody and charged with auto theft, kidnapping, felonious assault on a police officer, four counts of carrying a concealed weapon, one count of weapons under disability, aggravated robbery, tampering with evidence, obstructing of official business, and resisting arrest.

Ward is being held in the Hamilton County Jail.
