Crash injures four, including three children

UNION, KY (FOX19) - An accident in Boone County sent four people to the hospital, including three children.

The accident occurred just after 9 a.m. on Killarney Road in Union.

Police say Michael Canter, 35, of Union, was driving a pick up truck northbound on Killarney Drive approaching the intersection with Frogtown Road when he ran off the roadway and collided with another a utility truck owned by Pike Electric in Mount Airy, N.C., which was parked on the side of the road.

Air Care was called but could not fly due to the weather.

Canter was taken to University Hospital. The three occupants of his car, McKenzie Canter, 7, Dominick Canter, 7, and Lane Williams, 10, all of Union, were all taken to Children's hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the other truck was not injured.

Police say none of the occupants were wearing seatbelts, and speed is considered a factor.
