VERSAILLES, IN (FOX19) - An Indiana man is behind bars after he was found to be in possession of heroin during a traffic stop.
Casey Buchanan, 22, of Versailles, was stopped around 9 p.m. Tuesday night on U.S. 50 near Gaslight Drive for a traffic violation.
During the stop, an Indiana State Police trooper became suspicious of possible criminal activity and developed probable cause to search the vehicle.
During the search, he located syringes, drug paraphernalia and a small amount of heroin.
Buchanan is charge with Possession of a Narcotic Drug (Heroin) and Possession of a Hypodermic Needle, both Class D Felonies, Possession of Paraphernalia and Driving While Suspended with Prior Conviction, both Class A Misdemeanors.
He was taken to the Ripley County Jail.
