The Second Annual Paint the Town Red Benefit Concert

By Mark Shuller - Email

COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) – The second annual Paint the Town Red  benefit concert will be held on March 4th from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at the Leapin' Lizard, located at 726 Main Street in Covington. The concert is being sponsored by SOTENI International, a Cincinnati based non-profit organization that works in rural Kenya to help prevent HIV/AIDS.

This benefit concert will include high school and college musical performances. The band and acoustical musicians will be Abbey's Cage, a Cincinnati trio combining rock with acoustic phrases, Sam Mineli, an acoustic guitarist and singer/songwriter, Zak Morse, who is also an acoustic guitarist and singer from St. Xavier High School, and The Sleeping Sea, a three member post-dream/freak-folk/tropical-pop group from U.C.

They are inspired by the people, sounds, and animals of Africa, and finally the event will host Brendan Holmes and Carson Scheidler, who are both senior acoustic performers from Moeller High School.

Proceeds from the concert will be used to help AIDS victims and orphans in the SOTENI Village of Hope – Mbakalo, Kenya, Africa. Your support will provide them with the medical supplies and care necessary to rebuild their lives and communities, and educate a new generation of youth to help put an end to HIV/AIDS.

For more information on the event, email randie@soteni.org  or call (513) 324-0757. You can also follow SOTENI on Twitter or become a fan on  Facebook to keep up with the organization's latest news and events.
