CONNERSVILLE, IN (FOX19) - The pilot of a small aircraft was killed after a plane crashed in Connersville, Ind.
Indiana State Police Pendleton District troopers are assisting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) in the investigation of the crash in Fayette County that occurred Wednesday night.
Witnesses say that they heard the loud boom shortly before 11:00 p.m. Wednesday night.
Law enforcement officers, volunteer fire fighters from several agencies and civilians attempted to locate the aircraft from the ground. Firefighters from the Glenwood Volunteer Fire Department located the aircraft in a corn field approximately 2.5 miles southeast of the airport.
