DAYTON, OH (FOX19) - The Dayton International Airport was shut down for a short time Friday morning due to the mixture of rain and snow hitting southwest Ohio.
Airport officials say that one flight took off before 6 a.m., then the decision was made to close the airport. The airport remained closed until 8:15 a.m.
An airport spokesperson told The Dayton Daily News that all of the runways closed due to the mixed precipitation and low friction braking conditions.
If you are flying, you are urged to contact your airline for updates on flight information. Some flights are still experiencing cancellations or delays. Check the airport's website.
A heavy band of rain moved through the area overnight, and dropping temperatures are causing the rain-snow mix.
