CINCINNATI (FOX19) - A flood watch will be in effect for much of the FOX19 viewing area from late Sunday night until Monday evening.
This flood watch effects Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. A flood watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts.
Rain and thunderstorms will move into the region late Sunday night along a warm front, with a cold front pushing through on Monday. The rain may be heavy at times. Due to the rain and snow that fell from the storm last week the ground is saturated. Rainfall from this system is
expected to be an inch to an inch and a half which will likely cause flooding issues or exacerbate existing problems for much of the region.
River levels are also elevated from earlier rains and this upcoming rainfall has the potential to cause flooding across the watch area. Area creeks and streams will see a quicker reaction than
normal as this rain should result in almost total runoff with little ground infiltration.
