Cincinnati Park Board hosts hike at local Underground Railroad trail

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Cincinnati Park Board hosted an educational hike on Sunday along a ravine documented to have been used by escaping slaves as a part of the Underground Railroad.

The Ravine to Freedom Underground Railroad Hike covered 1.5 miles of rough, hilly terrain. After the hike, participants looked at historic maps and documents, and heard stories of the black abolitionists and families operating in the Cincinnati area.

This free event went from 3:30 until 5:30 p.m.
