CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The World Choir Games Mascot Design Competition has been narrowed down to four entries, and from February 27 until March 13 the public is invited to vote for their favorite.
The Selection Panel picked the following four finalists from more than 60 entries. They are:
- "CONKY"- CONKY stands for Cincinnati Ohio Northern Kentucky and represents the region and history of this river town.
- "Maestro Note" - A musical note, dressed in the attire and appearance of a maestro.
- "SoLa" - SoLa is pure music, with a whole note adorning her outfit to indicate that the whole world will join together in song at the World Choir Games. The name "SoLa" is derived from the syllables of the major scale (Do Re Me Fa So La Ti).
- "Whirl" - Short for "World" Choir Games. Sporting an oversized crown, Whirl reflects Cincinnati's unique heritage as the Queen City.
The Selection Panel will take into consideration the public voting when choosing the winning entry. The names and designs may be altered before the mascot is finalized.
The prize for the winning design is $500. Second place receives $250 and third place is awarded $100.
