OXFORD, OH (FOX19) - George Clooney and his crew are filming scenes in Oxford this week for his movie "The Ides of March."
Movie maker George Clooney is making it difficult for students at Miami University to study for mid-terms.
Shooting scenes inside The Farmer School of Business at the corner of High St. and Patterson Ave., students, staff and even faculty are trying to catch a glimpse of all the action.
"It's pretty cool going to classes and seeing George Clooney and Ryan Gosling outside while I'm taking class," says sophomore Chris Kritsas.
Kritsas is slated to be an extra in the film but will not get his assignment until hours before filming which also happens to be Green Beer Day, something the business management major is willing to overlook.
"I have no problem giving up Green Beer Day for me to be in a movie with George Clooney, that is for sure worth it to me," says Kritsas.
The university says Clooney is focused on Farmer's as the backdrop for a primary presidential debate and parked outside is his character's campaign bus.
"Naturally there is so much excitement on campus, first off we're proud of our campus, it's a beautiful place to show off but all the students, faculty and staff are excited the movie is happening," says Claire Wagner, a Miami University spokesperson.
Wagner says this is the first major movie to use the campus in more than 20 years. The last time Hollywood spent time in Oxford was 1990 for the film, Little Man Tate.
They will be filming in Oxford the rest of the week. FOX19 and other local news stations are using their live trucks as props during filming.
Clooney has been all over town filming the movie. He's been in Northside, Newport, Bellevue and Fountain Square, to name a few areas.
