Special night for University of Dayton basketball player

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) - The Dayton Flyers ended their regular season with two teary minutes.

Senior forward Ebony Gainey never was able to play because of a heart condition detected shortly before her freshman season in 2007. Her older sister had died of a heart attack a few months earlier.

The school kept her on scholarship for four seasons as an assistant. Coach Jim Jabir (JAY'-buhr) let her start on senior day and drew up a play to get her a shot. She scored on her second try, then went to the bench after making that one special basket.

She calls it the best two minutes of her life.
