Nola's Pineapple Dream Pie

Recipe from Patty D. George of Lake City, Tenn.

I found this recipe in my grandmother's box she always kept and there was not a name for this.  So I named it after her because she loved to cook and she was a good cook.  Nola Sharp George was her name...

1-graham cracker pie crust
1-8 ounce of cream cheese (softened)
1/4 cup of sugar (you can use 2/3 cup if desired)
1 1/2 cups of cool whip
1- 15 1/2 ounce can of crushed pineapples (drained)
1- 15 1/2 ounce can of pineapple chunks(drained)
1-can of mandarin oranges
1/4 cup of pecans (optional)
cherries (optional) for decoration

Mix sugar and cream cheese together until smooth.  Mix cool whip and crushed pineapples (and mandarin oranges if desired) together and add to the cream cheese mixture.  You can add pecans if you like, it is optional.  Pour into the graham cracker crust and top with the chunky pineapples and cherries and chill until firm and enjoy... I have seen my grandmother during the holidays add a few drops of food coloring to the cool whip to go with whatever the occasion was and give it color....

Everyone's sauce recipe is different. This one is more Sicilian and was handed down from my grandparents. The key is no exact measurements just flavor with ingredients below to taste.  In a large pot
