CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A building that is being demolished in Avondale will have 90 percent of its materials recycled or repurposed.
The building, located in the 3500 block of Burnet Avenue, will have many of its interior building material and decorative architectural elements salvaged, making them available for reintroduction in local remodeling projects.
All unsalvageable wood will be mulched by Rumpke Recycling. Following the deconstruction and wood recycling, ACT Recycling will finish the job by recycling whatever is left - mostly bricks and concrete foundation.
The effort is to achieve LEED platinum demolition standards of repurposing or recycling 90 percent of the building's materials. For more information on this project, visit www.buildingvalue.org.
