Two dead after shooting in Frisch's parking lot

MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19) - Two men are dead after an afternoon shooting in the parking lot of a local restaurant.

According to a police report, 26-year-old James Riley drove up to the parking lot of a Frisch's Big Boy on the 3500 block of the Dixie Highway, and blocked a pickup truck from getting out.

Riley got out of the car, and fired several shots from a shotgun into the truck. The shots killed 55-year-old Ernie Sexton, who was in the parking lot waiting for a friend. Following the shots fired into the vehicle, the report says that Riley turned the gun on himself.

When police investigated Riley's vehicle, they say they located an AK-47 with ammunition.

Authorities say relatives told police a woman at the restaurant was the shooter's ex-wife and was dating the man in the truck. She works at the restaurant and wasn't hurt.

Investigators are still looking into what led up to this incident.
