CINCINNATI (AP) - Xavier got a No. 2 seed - the best in school
history - in the NCAA tournament. The Musketeers also got the
chance for an intriguing rematch down the line.
The Musketeers (28-2) were placed in the Spokane region on
Monday night. They play at home on Sunday against South Dakota
State. If they win, they'll play either Louisville or Vanderbilt,
two familiar teams.
Last season, the Musketeers lost to Stanford on a last-second
shot in the Elite Eight. They could face Stanford - the Spokane
region's top seed - in the Elite Eight again.
Xavier's losses this season came at Duke and at Stanford when
top player Amber Harris was suffering from a mild concussion.
