Man escapes from jail through kitchen door

WEST UNION, OH (FOX19) - According to the Adams County Sheriff's Office, an inmate has escaped from the jail who was on kitchen cleaning duties at the time.

It is not clear on how the inmate got through the door, however, two Deputies were conducting the cleaning duties at the time.

The inmate, John Matthew Mace, 22, was incarcerated on charges of burglary, receiving stolen property, and theft. The inmate was scheduled for a hearing on March 17th.

Deputies from the Adams County Sheriff's Office searched the area to, but were not able to find him. Charges have been filed and a warrant issued for Mace for charges of Escape, also a felony.
