Votto homers in loss to D-backs

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Joey Votto homered and Travis Wood pitched five solid innings in the Cincinnati Reds' 13-10 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Wood allowed one run and four hits, struck out four and walked one. He also hit a two-run homer in Cincinnati's six-run fourth inning.

Arizona scored eight times in the eighth inning to take the lead. Ed Rogers and Brandon Allen each hit a two-run double and Adam Eaton connected for a two-run homer.

Joe Saunders allowed four runs and six hits in three innings for Arizona. Mike Hampton also struggled, charged with five runs and recording just one out.

Chris Heisey also homered for the Cincinnati split-squad.
