Cincinnati (FOX 19) Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis has hinted publicly the team plans to move on without quarterback Carson Palmer, and according to a report Monday, that's what he's told people close to him.
Sports Illustrated's Peter King says a Bengals executive told him that Lewis has indicated he knows how stubborn Palmer is and he doesn't expect Palmer will be back. At the NFL meetings in New Orleans Lewis told the NFL network, "I've talked with Carson. And what me and Carson talk about stays between Carson and I. He's the quarterback on our football team, yes he is.
Bengals owner Mike Brown hasn't changed his stance, telling the Enquirer's Joe Reedy the team still has no plans to trade Palmer.
