CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Wayne Lippert Jr., a wealth manager at Trupoint Inc., was named Tuesday as Jeff Berding's replacement on Cincinnati city council.
Berding announced his resignation at the end of January. He said that he is going to focus on his full-time private sector position with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Lippert will remain on council until at least November, when an election is held. He was already running for a council seat in the November election.
Lippert graduated from Summit Country Day School and Albian College. He has a master's degree from American University.
"We can continue down the current path of fiscal irresponsibility with ineffective city government and unfavorable business plan or we can get on path of economic prosperity, create business friendly environment, promote job creation, expand the tax base... I choose the latter," said Lippert during a press conference.
Lippert will be sworn in Wednesday afternoon.
