Reds announce Opening Weekend festivities

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -- Opening Day for the Cincinnati Reds is March 31, but there will be plenty of more activities to celebrate.

 The Reds take on the Milwaukee Brewers at 2:10pm at Great American Ball Park, but before the team takes the field, the 92nd Findlay Market Opening Day Parade will be held in Downtown Cincinnati.

 The parade starts at 11:00am and Reds Hall of Famer Joe Morgan will serve as the Grand Marshal. Morgan will also serve as the Honorary Captain of the Opening Day game.

 The Ceremonial First Pitch will be thrown by retired Cincinnati Police Chief Tom Striecher.

 Grammy nominee and multi- platinum R&B artist, Brian McKnight will be performing the National Anthem with his two sons, Brian Jr. and Niko. F-18 Hornets assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron 131 at Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach will performs flyover during the National Anthem

 The Reds will recognize Joey Votto for his 2010 National League MVP award. The Reds also have a tribute to Reds Manager Sparky Anderson during the pregame ceremonies.

All fans will receive a free rally towel presented by Duke Energy, Kroger, Cincinnati Bell, and Scotts.

 Opening Night will be on Saturday, April 2 against the Brewers at 7:10pm. Before the games fans can meet and greet with current Reds players, Cirque du Solei "OVO" performers, Reds House DJ "DJ Sab", and more at the Fan Zone from 5:30 to 6:30pm.

Pro Football Hall of Famer Anthony Munoz will throw out the ceremonial first pitch, and Team Fastrax Skydiving Team will perform during the pregame.

 On Sunday, April 3, over 500 owners and their dogs will be at Great American Ballpark for the first Bark in the Park before the Reds take on the Brewers at 1:10pm.

 At 7:00pm on Sunday, the entire 2011 Cincinnati Reds roster, coaches and broadcasters will put on a theater- style show called Reds Un-Cut at the Aronoff Center. Learn just about everything you want to know about your favorite Reds. Tickets start at $25. To buy tickets, click here.
