AKRON, OH (WOIO) - Former Judge Bridget McCafferty's defense team continued calling witnesses in her corruption trial Thursday.
McCafferty faces one federal charge of making five false statements to law enforcement. The statements were regarding conversations with Cuyahoga County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora and Russo.
Russo took the stand on Tuesday, and said he would call McCafferty 2-4 times a year, and ask her to watch out for certain cases involving friends, employees and others close to him.
He added he expected McCafferty to help because they are friends.
McCafferty admitted she spoke to former DAS CEO Steve Pumper and Russo about cases in her courtroom, but denied fixing any cases.
McCafferty also refused to listen to phone calls secretly recorded between herself, Pumper and a separate call with Russo.
No word if McCafferty will take the stand in her own defense.
