GEORGETOWN, OH (FOX19) - A Brown County man was sentenced to 25 years to life on Thursday for his involvement in a murder-for-hire plot.
Dallas Tincher was found guilty of two counts of complicity and one count of conspiracy to aggravated murder. Co-defendant Joseph Hensley confessed in trial that Tincher hired him to kill John Carpenter.
Tincher claimed that he wanted Carpenter dead because he was abusing a child. However, the state produced evidence that Carpenter was not abusing any children.
Brown County Prosecutor Jessica Little said in a statement, "Dallas Tincher made a grievous mistake when he took it on himself to be judge, jury and de-facto executioner."
In January, Hensley sent a letter to the prosecution saying that he did not kill Carpenter, but the State determined that the letter was not supported by the evidence given.
