COLUMBUS, OH (FOX19) - CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -- The Taft Senators won their first ever state championship with a 95-52 win over Cleveland Central Catholic. Taft got off to a quick start, opening the game with a 16-6 run.
The onslaught continued in the second quarter as the Senators outscored their opponent, 30-10. Taft played solid defense, converting 23 turnovers into 22 points.
Adolphus Washington led the Senators with 18 points and 8 rebounds.
Taft is just the third Cincinnati public school to make it to state.
