Two hospitalized, one dead after Clinton Co. accident

WILMINGTON, OH (FOX19) - The Ohio State Patrol is investigating a two vehicle crash in Clinton County that has left two in the hospital and one man dead.

According to investigators, 37-year-old Joshua Evans of Sabina was driving on State Route 73 in Green Township around 10 p.m. Friday, when his 1985 Chevrolet Chevette went left of center and struck an oncoming 2002 Ford Windstar head-on.

After the initial impact, both vehicles traveled off the road into a field.

The Windstar was being driven by Shelbi Bolin, 15, of Wilmington. She was transported to Clinton Memorial Hospital along with her passenger, 37-year-old Dawn Haidet. Their conditions have not been released at this time.

Mr. Evans was pronounced dead on the scene by investigators from the Clinton County Coroner's Office. According to police, he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The two occupants of the Ford Windstar were both properly restrained with lap and shoulder belts, according to investigators.

The investigation is ongoing, but preliminary investigation reveals that alcohol was not a contributing factor in this case.
