SPRING GROVE VILLAGE (FOX19) - One woman has been hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries after officials say her home caught fire and she attempted to put it out herself.
The fire started before 8 a.m. Sunday morning in a single-family home in the 4600 block of North Edgewood Avenue in Spring Grove Village. According to investigators, the cause of the fire was a candle that was left burning on a table on the first floor.
The fire spread to the second floor and also got into the walls and insulation before crews were able to put it out.
Firefighters say the home is a total loss, with damage estimated at $75,000.
