CLIFTON, OH (FOX19) - Police say a pizza worker was able to thwart a robbery attempt after he overheard a customer's plan to rob the delivery driver.

According to police, someone called Topper's Pizza in Clifton early Monday morning and placed a large order. The customer forgot to hang up the phone, and the employee who took the order said he overheard a plan to rob the pizza delivery driver.

The employee called 911, and an undercover officer was put in place of the driver. The customers took the pizza and took off running.

Two suspects, Kevon Whitfield, 19, and a 14-year-old juvenile, were arrested in the 900 block of Mound Street in the West End. Both are charged with robbery.

Officers say some of the suspects were arrested a short time later at an apartment in the West End, but they aren't saying how many arrests were made.
