RIPLEY COUNTY, IN (FOX19) - Indiana State Police say driver inattention is the likely cause of a crash that killed two young girls.

The crash occurred Thursday, March 24 on U.S. 421 and involved a pick-up truck and semi truck.

Kacy Brown, 7, and Grace Brown, 6, were killed in the crash. Their father, Kristopher C. Brown and his wife, Ai Odashima Brown, remain in critical condition at University Hospital in Cincinnati.

Police say it appears the semi was not operating at an excessive rate of speed just prior to the crash.

Troopers are expected to turn the case over to the Ripley County Prosecutor's Office this week for a review of possible charges.
