Cincinnati Councilwoman Amy Murray submitted a motion in City Council Tuesday to adjust the budget timeline.
In a statement, Councilwoman Murray said, "At the end of last year, several important budget decisions were made in the final week of December, including some on 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Most would agree that this is not a good time to debate important fiscal decisions that affect an entire city for a whole year."
Last year the budget was presented by the City Manager for approval on November 30th, and the budget was passed on December 30th.
The report from the City Manager will offer several alternative timelines that will start the budget process earlier.
