Students from CHCA volunteer around the Tri-State

SYCAMORE TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - More than 1,400 students from pre-kindergarten to 12th grade spent Friday helping out the community for the Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy's Day of Service.

Some children bagged food for those in need. Other children cleaned up area parks. Still other children gather items for the Montgomery Easter Egg Hunt.

Other children spent time volunteering at retirement communities and nursing homes.

"Well we're a Christian school. Service is a part of my life. It's hard work absolutely but I'm having a blast and it's nice to be able to serve the community and help out," said Josh Thiel, student at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy.

The students involved say they hope to make this a school-wide event, more than once a year.
