Hundreds gather to discuss opportunities for Cincinnati neighborhoods

The City of Cincinnati Department of City Planning and Buildings, together with Invest in Neighborhoods and the Community Building at Xavier University is hosting the ninth annual Neighborhood Summit today.

The Summit is an opportunity for grassroots volunteers to participate in the direction of the city's plan by interacting with city officials and learn how to make improvements in their own neighborhoods.

The event focuses on three areas: Policy, character, and making an impact. Workshops focused on these themes are being offered throughout the day.

The policy workshops allow participants to review and recommend policies to the city, the character workshops center on where and how the city should develop, and the workshop on making an impact features the successes of several of the city's neighborhoods.

The summit runs until 3:30 Saturday afternoon.
