Hamilton County Job and Family Services planted over 5,000 pinwheels in Burnet Woods Saturday to help promote awareness and prevention of child abuse.
"Pinwheels for Prevention is an annual statewide campaign organized to promote awareness and prevention child abuse by planting a colorful pinwheel for each report of abuse received by each county in the past year.
In the past year, Hamilton County Job and Family Services received over 5,058 reports of abuse and neglect. The pinwheels planted in Burnet Woods Saturday represent every report received by the department.
