SPRINGFIELD TWP, OH (FOX19) -

The teenage victim of the fatal accident that occurred in the early-morning hours on Sunday has been identified. Police say that 17-year old Michael Davis of North College Hill was driving a stolen 2002 Dodge Stratus at a high rate of speed refusing to stop.

The car was reported stolen Sunday morning from Ontario Street in Colerain Township.

According to reports, Davis was traveling around  65 miles per hour in a 35 mile per hour zone and accelerating. The officer then activated his lights and attempted to catch up with the vehicle.

Several seconds later, Davis lost control of the car just south of Sarbrook Drive and struck a utility pole. The pole held a power line, and caused power outages in the area.

Michael Davis died at the scene. He was the only occupant of the vehicle.
