Students from Taft Information Technology High School moved into a state-of-the-art facility Tuesday morning.
At 9 a.m., students who are back from spring break and the school's first state basketball championship moved into a new $18.5 million facility. The facility was built at the school's original home site on the West End.
The 103,000-square foot, three-story building features wall-to-floor windows, 35,700- square feet of live vegetative roof, nine computer labs and wireless capability throughout the school.
Taft IT has gained national attention for its academic excellence and turn around over the past decade, including being recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School earlier in the year.
