Cincinnati Zoo officials announced Tuesday that the baby giraffe born April 2 at the zoo is a girl.
Name suggestions for the calf will be accepted on the Zoo's Facebook page through Friday, April 8, at which time the Zoo's giraffe keepers will pick their favorites.
Mom (Tessa), dad (Kimba) and the calf are doing well spending time in their indoor stall at Giraffe Ridge.
Zoo visitors can view the family through windows and/or a live-feed color monitor set up on the viewing deck, beginning. It will still be 2-3 weeks before the calf is introduced to the outdoor exhibit.
