A Duke Energy meter reader and a FedEx driver were injured Tuesday after being attacked by a pair of dogs.
It happened around 9:30 a.m. on Carolina Trace Road.
A spokesman with the Dearborn County Sheriff's Office says two Boxer dogs got loose and attacked the workers.
The meter reader suffered serious lacerations and was taken to University Hospital. The FedEx driver suffered minor injuries to his hand and leg and was taken to Mercy Medical Center Harrison.
A third person, a truck driver, saw the attack and hit the dogs with a tool he uses to check the air in his tires until the dogs ran off.
The dogs were taken by animal control to the Dearborn County Animal Shelter, where they will be held for 10 days and then put down, due to the severity of the workers' injuries.
