The Norwood Fire Department filed arson charges against an 11-year-old following an investigation into a fire in Norwood that destroyed an old factory.
On the night of December 27, 2010, crews responded to a fire at the old Norco factory on the 4900 block of Section Ave. Crews battled the fire for several hours, and the vacant factory was destroyed as a result.
According to the Norwood Fire Department, an 11-year-old juvenile and his 8-year-old brother admitted setting several fires in the vacant structure. The 8-year-old will not be charged due to his age.
The Norco building had been vacant since 2009, and was slated for destruction before the fire hit.
