The first of a series on senior fraud and identity theft kicks off Wednesday.
WesleyLinks, a network of 65 churches organized by Wesley Community Services, is hosting the event. Wednesday's meeting will be held at noon at Westwood United Methodist Church on Epworth Avenue. The event is open to the public, but please RSVP by calling 513-661-2777.
The guest speaker will be commissioner Greg Hartmann, who was instrumental in creating the Hamilton County Coalition to Stop Fraud, Scams and Abuse.
"Unfortunately for Hamilton County, there are too many criminals willing to take advantage of our most vulnerable populations," said Hartmann. "Opportunities to educate our seniors, such as efforts by WesleyLinks, are critical to helping our elderly residents protect themselves from fraud and scams."
Seniors attending the seminar will learn information on fraud prevention and resources if they suspect fraud or identity theft.
