The Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati launched a new website on Wednesday to help people in the tri-state learn more about the Affordable Care Act. and how it affects them.
The Health Foundation says the new website called reform.healthfoundation.org is a part of their larger public education effort to inform the community about the changes the law has on their health care coverage.
The Health Foundation also says that several parts of the new law have already begun to take effect, but according to the March 2011 Ohio Health Issues Poll, 2 in 3 Ohio adults surveyed said they don't understand how the changes in the law will affect them personally. These findings mirrored a similar Kentucky survey conducted in December 2010 by The Health Foundation for Greater Cincinnati and the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky.
"Most people want to know how the Affordable Care Act affects them personally, but aren't sure where to turn to get the answers," said Kate Keller, senior program officer of The Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati. "This new website is an important resource to help Greater Cincinnati residents understand changes in the law already in effect, anticipate the modifications coming and be aware of new benefits for which they may be eligible."
In addition to the website, The Foundation says they will distribute information and publications through community organizations and include discussions with Greater Cincinnati community groups.
