Cincinnati is named one of the top 20 cities in the US when it comes to being an "Ultimate Sports City". The ranking was released on Wednesday by Game Day Communications in Cincinnati, where the Queen City came in at #19 on the list just ahead of Cleveland.
Los Angeles, California, the host of four of the top five sporting events in the world, leads the new list of The Ultimate Sports Cities in the United States from www.TUSL.com, a sports fan website sharing fan experiences at some of the premiere sporting venues and events. Following Los Angeles in the top five are Boston, New York City, Chicago and Dallas.
"First we gave you The Ultimate Sports List, the world's top 150 sporting events as voted by sports fans around the world," said Tom Walsh, founder of the website, www.TUSL.com. "Now, we are announcing The Ultimate Sports Cities to pay tribute to those cities who host some of the top sporting events in the world."
Los Angeles earned top sports city honors for being the host of the Summer Olympics, FIFA World Cup finals, Super Bowl, NCAA Men's Final Four and the World Series. Boston barely edged out New York for number two, but with the New York area scheduled to be a Super Bowl host in 2014, that event is expected to eventually move New York to second place.
The Top 30 Ultimate Sports Cities are:
- Los Angeles
- New York NY
- St. Louis
- Washington, D.C.
- San Francisco
- San Diego
- New Orleans
- Kansas City
