Archbishop Dennis M. Schnurr has appointed a new principal at Badin High School.
Brian Pendergest is the current assistant principal/dean of students. He will take over the role of principal effective July 1.
"Mr. Pendergest is a man of great energy and vision," said Dr. Jim Rigg, Director of Educational Services and Superintendent of Catholic Schools. "He possesses a great talent for academic leadership and a love of working with young people. He is a devoted Catholic, and will continue to guide Badin's commitment to providing a vibrant Christ-Centered environment."
Pendergest is a graduate of Badin, where he taught history and math from 2000 to 2003. He became assistant principal/dean of students of Badin in 2003 before being named principal of McNicholas Catholic High School in 2007. He returned to Badin in 2009, resuming his former administrative capacity.
He succeeds retiring principal Frank Margello.
"I would like to thank and acknowledge Mr. Margello for eight years of tremendous leadership as principal of Badin," Dr. Rigg said. "Mr. Margello has worked hard to ensure that Badin provides an outstanding academic program that genuinely reflects the teachings of Christ. Although Mr. Margello's presence will be missed at Badin, I am fully confident that Mr. Pendergest will lead Badin to even greater heights."
