Two Riverboats collide on the Ohio River

NEWPORT, KY (FOX19) - Two boats collided on the Ohio River Thursday during a Miami formal.

A Miami University Fraternity was having a formal event on one of the boats. 250 students had to be evacuated from the River Queen, owned by BB Riverboat.

Sources tell FOX19 that all the students followed proper safety procedures and were wearing their life vests as they were being evacuated from the boat.

No word on the extent of the damage on either of the boats. There is also no word on which fraternity was on the boat at the time of the accident.

No one was hurt during the accident.
