ANDERSON TWP, OH (FOX19) - The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office is searching for two suspects after a home invasion in Anderson Township on Friday night.
Police say two male suspects, one armed with a semi-automatic 9mm handgun, attempted to break in to a home in the 7000 block of Clough Pike shortly after 11 p.m. on Friday. A resident of the home woke up when he heard the noise, and opened the front door, allegedly allowing the two suspects to enter the residence.
Once inside, police say the armed suspect shot the victim's Rottweiler twice. The resident then ran through a side door to the neighbor's house across the street for help.
According to police, another resident of the home exited the bedroom at this time, and was assaulted by the suspects.
The suspects then allegedly ran eastbound on Clough Pike, leaving the residence without taking anything.
The victim who was assaulted sustained minor injuries. The injuries to the Rottweiler are non-life-threatening.
The Hamilton County Sheriff's Department K-9 unit searched the area, but didn't find anything.
Suspect #1 is described as a male black, in his late 20's to early 30's, wearing a light colored hooded sweatshirt and armed with a semi-automatic 9mm handgun.
Suspect #2 is described as a male black, late 20's to early 30's, wearing a light colored hooded sweatshirt.
