ST. MARTIN, OH (FOX19) - A Loveland teen with bone cancer got a chance at going to prom Saturday night.
15-year-old Shelby Foster has bone cancer and may not make it to her junior or senior high school prom, so friends and family decided to throw Shelby her own prom at Chatfield College in St. Martin.
The non-profit group Team Chandler helped organize the event along with the student government at Chatfield. Local community members also pitched in by getting Shelby a stretch hummer limo for her and her friends to arrive in style.
Shelby was also able to spend the entire day getting ready for the prom at Kenwood Mall. She got her make up and nails done along with a bright colorful wig to go along with her dress. Shelby has been through two rounds of chemotherapy.
Chatfield College says this is the first time they have done an event like this with Shelby as the guest of honor.
