Police say Cincinnati Reds pitcher Mike Leake stole merchandise from a downtown store.
Hamilton County Sheriff's spokesperson Steve Barnett says the 2009 first round draft pick is accused of taking $59 worth of merchandise from the Macy's store on 5th Street downtown at about 1:15 Monday afternoon.
Leake was arrested by 2 p.m. and booked into the Justice Center by 2:30 p.m.
According to the police report, Leake is accused of taking the tags off of six shirts and walked out of the store. Leake is expected to go before a judge for his arraignment Tuesday at 12:30 p.m.
Leake is scheduled to start on Thursday afternoon against the Diamondbacks at Great American Ballpark. So far this year he has two wins and no losses in three starts.
