COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Police have arrested a man for allegedly stealing gold coins from a Colerain Township shop.

Investigators say Sean Bolton, 31, was looking at gold coins and asked to see a gold 1 ounce coin. He then asked to see an additional gold 1 ounce coin.  When the clerk pulled the second one out of the display case, Bolton grabbed it out of the clerk's hand and fled the store with both coins - an American Eagle coin worth $1,600 and a South African Krugerran worth $1,565.

As Bolton fled the store, he pointed a pistol at the store clerk, forcing the clerk to retreat.  Witnesses obtained a license plate number which led to Bolton being located in Reading by Reading Police Officers. He was then turned over to Sheriff's Patrol Officers.

Bolton is charged with aggravated robbery. The coins have not been recovered, but the firearm he used has been recovered.

Bolton was transported to the Hamilton County Justice Center.
