PRICE HILL, OH (FOX19) - Phillips Swim Club will be open for business in 2011, thanks to a decision by a group of members to take over the operations as a non-profit organization.
The swim club first opened its doors in 1929. It was in danger of not being open this season due to declining membership and rising costs.
"We are thrilled to be able to keep the pool open for business and provide the residents of the community with a great place to spend the summer with their family and friends," said Chris Gramke, a member of the board of trustees.
The swim club is seeking members for the upcoming 2011 season. Under the new format, members who join the swim club will also be stakeholders. The Board of Trustees will oversee the operations of the club and will hire management and a staff to oversee the day to day operations.
Opening day is scheduled for May 28, 2011. More information is available at the club's website.
