Coroner: Man shot by police in Northside was intoxicated

The Hamilton County Coroner says that the man shot by Cincinnati Police early Monday morning was intoxicated at the time of the shooting.

40-year-old David Paul Hebert, a.k.a. Bones, was reportedly drunk, with a blood alcohol level of .33, and had marijuana in his system the night that Cincinnati Police shot him.

Herbert was a suspect in a cutting in Northside earlier Monday. When police confronted Herbert, he reportedly pulled out a 13" switchblade out of his pocket and swiped it toward one of the officers and took a step.

The Cincinnati Police Officer then fired two rounds, killing Herbert.

The officers involved in the shooting are on paid administrative lead.
