A pair of St. Louis sports writers are getting Cardinals fans ready for a series against the Reds this weekend by selling T-shirts that take a jab at pitcher Mike Leake.
Matt Sebek and Josh Bacott, who operate the blog JoeSportsFan, are selling T-Shirts that read, "Mike Leake stole this shirt for me."
Leake is accused of stealing five shirts from a downtown Cincinnati Macy's store earlier this week. 700 WLW is reporting that Leake was trying to exchange the T-shirts, not steal them.
The Reds start a 3-game series against the Cardinals in St. Louis on Friday. Leake is scheduled to start for the Reds on Thursday, so he is not expected to play in the St. Louis series.
There is no love lost between the two teams after comments from Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips spurred a bench-clearing brawl last August.
