Walnut Hills High School received a "Green Grant," Thursday. This was all made possible by local residents participating in the "Recycle Bank" rewards program.
The program, which ran from last October until February in Cincinnati, monitored recycling efforts and converted them into points.
The points can then be donated to help fund "green" projects in local schools.
"It's the easiest thing to do with the largest amount of environmental impact," Judy Callahan, Science Teacher, "It saves resources, it saves money, now with recycle bank you can earn points and get rewards. It is the easiest way to reduce CO2 emissions, pollution, and at the same time make the environment a better place."
More than 1 million residents in more than 20 different states are participating in the recycle bank program.
