CALIFORNIA, OH (FOX19) - A 2-alarm fire has damaged a home in California, Ohio.
The fire broke out around 9:15 a.m. in the 5800 block of Croslin Street, near Coney Island.
Initial arriving firefighters discovered heavy fire on multiple floors of a two-story with an attic private dwelling. Firefighters quickly upgraded the response to a structure fire response which included several more fire companies.
Due to the fire entering hidden voids spaces and traveling unimpeded throughout the dwelling a second-alarm was transmitted for additional fire resources. A short time later, firefighters were withdrawn from the structure the fire would be fought defensively from the exterior.
The fire was brought under control within forty-five minutes; no firefighters are civilians were injured.
Damage is estimated at $80,000 to the structure only. The cause and origin is yet to be determined.
Fifty firefighters and 13 fire companies were utilized at this incident.
